A midweek update. After two days of quiet trading, oil prices surged in New York on Wednesday after the weekly stocks report showed that US gasoline and distillate stocks fell considerably more than expected last week.
A mid-week update. Oil prices continued to fall this week capped by the EIA stocks report on Wednesday which showed US crude inventories increasing by 5.2 million barrels last week and by 24 million barrels in the last five weeks.
Two hundred and fifty thousand Norwegian jobs depend on oil. These jobs are expensive, require high technical skills and place upward pressures on national salary levels ( Norwegian manufacturing wages are 70 percent higher than the EU average).
