Isabel Cavelier Adarve, winner of the 2022 Climate Breakthrough Award, will be joining our July 2, 2024 live online event on responding to climate destabilization.

In this brief interview, Isabel shares with Post Carbon Institute’s Asher Miller how she unexpectedly became a climate negotiator for the Colombian government in 2011. She also discusses how she approaches self-care in order to “stay with the trouble,” as well as her path to realizing that “solving” the climate crisis requires a transformation in how we relate with one another and the more-than-human world.

Isabel Cavelier Adarve

Isabel Cavelier Adarve is a Colombian writer, potter, story-teller, and weaver dedicated to emerging the new culture that will help us navigate through the Anthropocene. She is based in Bogotá where she lives and works. She has served as a diplomat for Colombia, as as University professor, and currently leads a global network of influence on climate change politics. She is also the founder of Mundo Común, an new endeavor weaving a system of care for the climate community, as a means to re-imagine our human identity and our responses to the climate crisis.
