Numerous prominent petroleum geologists have been warning for years about the resources limitations of oil both in the U.S. and globally.  It’s now looking like the wolf is nearing the door.

Annual global oil production data are now available from the U.S. Department of Energy/Energy Information Administration (U.S. DOE/EIA) for 2022 so it’s time for an update on my 2022 report.

Environmentalists like to say that oil can be easily replaced with electric and fuel cell vehicles in the transportation sector.  But how realistic is that assertion?

I don’t expect oil production from the Middle East OPEC countries to significantly exceed the production rates of 2018/2019 in the future irrespective of what the U.S. wants them to produce.
