Nick Kary

From a young age, Nick Kary enjoyed working with his hands. After studying art history, he apprenticed to a model engineer and cabinetmaker before going on to complete a master’s in furniture design. For the last 35 years, Nick has been a professional furniture maker, crafting pieces for clients in the UK and around the world. Currently, he splits his time between making, writing and teaching at his workshops in Devon and at Plymouth University and Schumacher College. He lives with his wife and youngest daughter near Totnes, among a cluster of cabins, workshops and wooden structures.
