Annabelle Dawson was editorial assistant at the Green European Journal from 2018 to 2021. She will begin a PhD in Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds in October 2021, with her research exploring socio-environmental conflicts related to renewable energies in Latin America. She previously worked as an English teacher in Chile and volunteered as communications officer with an NGO in Peru.

Ideas are effective when people see themselves in them and want to fight for them, rather than something that is purely intellectual. We need to think in terms of the questions and ideas that can galvanise the militant and collective action that this moment requires.
